Why 20” Off Road Wheels?

The modification of trucks, Jeeps and SUVs has been a huge part of the off roading community for decades. So much so, that vehicle manufacturers are making an effort to provide consumers with factory options and packages that cater to off road activities. The major drawback? Manufacturers have to adhere to specific regulations that prevent them from offering really aggressive wheel and tire fitments. So what’s the solution? You guessed it; aftermarket 20 inch off road wheels. The good news is, aftermarket wheel manufacturers like us supply consumers with 20 inch off road wheels. Hardrock Offroad offers nearly all of our designs in a 20” fitment. Our most popular sets being the H700 Affliction, H501 Bones XPosed, and the H506.

The Advantages of 20” Off Road Wheels

There’s a lot of mixed opinions about the benefits of 20” wheels versus 17” wheels. On one hand there’s a group of people who swear by 17” off road wheel setups, and on the other there’s a group who prefer 20 inch off road wheels. It’s true that a 17” wheel has slightly better performance due to the fact that the tire has more sidewall. This provides a smoother ride and better off roading capabilities. Having said that, it’s absolutely safe to run a 20” wheel that performs well not only on the streets, but in rugged terrains as well. The added benefit of the 20” though, is that it’s much more aesthetically pleasing to a wider demographic, specifically those that don’t off-road as much, or at all.
